PERSONAL PROFILE

< NICK TURNER >
< PAUL GARNER >
< RICHARD PREW >

NICK TURNER
Senior partner, sadly in both age and (less sad) experience, Nick is a graduate of Oxford University.

A founder member of the practice, he heads the firm’s defendant litigation department, whilst also maintaining his duty solicitor status.

A genuine expert in all areas of road haulage law, his knowledge has been gained over many years.

Apparently supports Bolton Wanderers, but we don't like to mention it.

He is assisted by Sarah Parr, who qualified in 2002.

PAUL GARNER
Paul qualified in 1990, and heads the Personal Injury Department.

Paul came to the firm from the Magistrates Courts Service after qualifying and having worked in the service since 1976.

In addition to his experience in Personal Injury Litigation gained during his 15 years with the firm he has experience in Criminal Law matters having continued to practice Criminal law and he is still a member of the local Duty Solicitor Scheme.

He was made a partner in 1996 and is currently the Training Officer within the firm responsible for ensuring the training of junior would be solicitors.

Paul was born in Blackburn, is married with one son and sensibly supports Blackburn Rovers.

RICHARD PREW
Richard is a graduate of Manchester Polytechnic (he is of a certain age) and Chester Law School. One of a dying breed, he always wanted to be a criminal lawyer. He qualified in 1990.

Having gained valuable experience at two of the largest criminal firms in East Lancashire, he decided to take the plunge and set up a department at what was then, Cunningham Turner Solicitors.

Since then, the department has gone from strength to strength. New recruit, John Clish, completes the team of solicitors. The department has Peer Review category 2 status with the Legal Services Commission, and a contract to carry out criminal defence work.

Also on board is Simon Drugan, a qualified police station representative. A rare commodity; a young man with common sense, and someone not afraid to defend you to the hilt when you might be at your most vulnerable, at the police station.

The firm has 3 duty qualified solicitors.

Richard is qualified to appear in the Criminal higher courts.

Richard is a member of the Health and Safety Lawyers Association.

Richard is married, with two children, whom he is desperately trying to make into Blackburn Rovers supporters!
